Mike and I are presently leaders of a “Young Married’s” Community Group. Our background in Marriage Ministry started under the leadership of Steve and Julie for 10 years. During that period of time, they led the team of Marriage Coaches by leading workshops and marriage conferences grounded in God’s Design for marriage. Steve’s focus was driven by God’s word, along with real life stories, with some humor, practical tips, for marriages to move towards a Christ-Centered marriage. The core of our ministry was meeting with pre-marital and married couples on a 2-on-2 mentoring experience. Steve and Julie provided biblical resources to better equip us in ministering to these couples. We believe Steve and Julie are passionate about serving pre-marital and married couples for growing closer to the Lord and for couples to desire a Christ-Centered, God-honoring marriage.

We first met The Durdins in 2018 at a Marriage Seminar through our church. Steve & Julie ran the Marriage Matters Ministry at that time and led Conferences, Seminars and small group Bible Studies for newly married couples. They are deeply passionate and committed to share the beautiful union that God intends marriage to be. Steve & Julie love Jesus and are gifted with great spiritual wisdom, enthusiasm and testimonies of how a marriage In Christ can be the greatest sanctuary and form of Love on earth. Their Marriage Conference “Marriage - Romance or Roommates” was outstanding and changed the way my husband and I thought about our relationship. They left such an impact on us that 8 yrs later, we asked This Power Couple to coach & mentor our own daughter and son in law into their marriage. Steve & Julie are fun, loving and a blessing!

My wife and I were married to other people many years ago. Long after we were both divorced, we met in our church. We fell in love quickly, but we both had suffered from such deep hurt in our previous marriages, we weren’t sure we should allow things to progress beyond dating. But, as time went on, we became more committed to each other. And, since we wanted to do things “God’s way” this time around, we knew marriage was the next step. We had heard of the marriage coaching ministry in our church and actually spoke to Steve and Julie directly about having them coach us – and they did! We met with them for eight sessions. We learned so much about ourselves, about each other and, more importantly, learned how much God loves us and wants to be a part of our lives and our relationship. After that, we attended all the workshops they offered. We are so thankful that God pointed them to us, and so thankful for the many ways He worked through them and changed our lives.

I was dating a man who really wanted to marry me. He was fun and I enjoyed spending time with him, but I couldn’t bring myself around to love him. I had a few bad relationships in the past, so I thought that maybe that was the reason I held back. It was my mom who insisted that we meet with Steve and Julie. After we met for several sessions, Steve and Julie encouraged me to walk away from the relationship. After receiving lots of “pressure” from my family and friends to “settle down and marry someone”, it was such a relief to have them come alongside me and give me the educated, thoughtful and prayerful courage to do what I knew I was supposed to do all along. It’s been over three years now, and even though I’m still single, I still can’t thank them enough. God used them to save me from what would have been a life-altering and terrible decision.

Steve and Julie Durdin are life-changers, plain and simple. They teach about marriage in practical and engaging ways saturated in Biblical truth and with transparency from their own experiences. We were in a small group that they led for a number of years, and we were deeply impacted by the integrity with which they truly “walk the walk and talk the talk” in their own marriage and how they provided powerful, individualized insights into building a strong marriage that we still hold dear almost a decade later. My wife Laura and I were so incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from the Durdins prior to our marriage. We started off seeing Steve give a marriage workshop that we attended as a newly engaged couple. We reached out and were able to do 2 on 2 personal premarital coaching with them. We spent the several months prior to our marriage learning, getting advice, and walking through some of our own flaws that we had to work on to have a marriage that was Jesus centered and not "us" centered. Now as we approach 9 years married, (and all of them happily married!), we look back and without a doubt our marriage success can be attributed to the foundations established by our time with the Durdins. We are partners, who know our roles, we know how to love one another, we know how to fight with one another and we know how to FORGIVE one another. Our marriage is something Laura and I both take a lot of pride in, and that can all be traced back the principles and foundations that we have learned from the Durdins. And we are forever grateful.
